Researchers from Stanford University, Prof. Dr. John P. A. Ioannidis, K. W. Boyack ve J. Baas, published an article titled “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” listing the best researchers in world.
The database created by the research team led by Dr. John PA Ioannidis created a database that includes the best scientist in the world’s top 2%, using standard citation indicators. the standard citation indicators used, were prepared taking into account citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. The database categorized scientists in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Within the scope of the database created, two different rankings were created using career-long citation impact and 2020 citation impact.
In this regard, Uşak University Department of Mechanical Engineering Faculty member Prof. Dr. Hakan ÇALIŞKAN was eligible to enter the “Single Year Impact-2020 and “Career-long impact” lists prepared taking into account the scientific publications produced during the careers of scientists and the publications they made in 2020.
As in the list prepared in 2020, Prof. Dr. ÇALIŞKAN achieved the success of being included in “The World’s Top 2% Scientists” list prepared in 2021. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Caliskan was also ranked 1st among Uşak University academics in “The World’s Top 2% Scientists” list and became one of Turkey’s top 200 scientists.
